Enjoy the Vast Unifying, Living Tradition that is Yoga Today

All of our sessions are currently LIVE STREAMED whilst we move through these challenging times. We are working intensely to bring you a hybrid class system as and when permitted by government guidance.

Online services by at1.SPACE include:

• LIVE online sessions throughout the week that include techniques to keep you physically fit, mindful and relaxed with a strong focus on keeping the mind & body connected.

• Sessions with Mumtaz and Yasmin who have over 20 years combined experience and Laura, our third amazing and qualified teacher.

• Access to playback session videos to enable yogis to practice at their own convenience, around work and childcare commitments⁠

• Ad hoc enrichment (e.g. this week Becky Tinsley, a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and clinical Supervisor for a Q&A around mental health has been invited to the platform.)

Inspired by Yas and Mumtaz’s time spent in India, the birthplace of yoga…our unique experience and lineage. Create energy and raise vibrations during this class. Everything in the universe pulsates, from light to sound to human beings. Enjoy a practice that is entire and whole.

Expect a combination of asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation, balances, deep core strengthening and relaxation.

Expect a fun, loving, strong physical practice. From beginner to intermediate, to advanced postures whilst listening to your body and adapting accordingly. As always, the class is free of criticism and judgement. Connect to the mind, body and soul using breathing techniques along with the physical movements of the body. Release negative energy trapped within the physical body, which in turn releases mental toxins-it’s all connected! So if you like to be challenged without feeling the pressure of others then this is the class for you!

By the way, Mumtaz loves keeping you on your toes so every month she changes the playlist, so just when you think you know what to expect she likes to keep you moving and growing by adding on new challenges…ENJOY!

We take our inspiration here from the meaning of asana: which roughly translates as ‘posture held in stillness.’ Traditionally, the physical practice of yoga (asana) was intended as Meditation Prep.

As well as the above, expect a practice involving variations of seated and supine poses and classical variations of postures. Typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia by stretching connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine).

Expect deeper holds to help you explore your postures and to help you open up both mentally and physically.

Warm – meditation with minimal movement for modern people.

Create space both physically and mentally to explore the moments between the breath and the heartbeat. Expand your meditation toolbox, feel relaxed yet focused. Take this practice off your mat and into the world…

Tune into the subtle energies of your being. Expect guided visualisation, mindfulness and meditation. Explore grounding asana, learn the fundamentals of pranayama, bhanda, kumbacas, drishti (focus) and of course relaxation



We have designed the week so you can get to fully enjoy the benefits of this practice either after a fun energetic power practice with Mumtaz or as a stand alone practice-the choice is yours!

Yoga Nidra (also known as yogic sleep) is a powerful technique for controlling your body’s relaxation response. Yoga Nidra can be as restorative as sleep, whilst you remain fully conscious. Cultivate conscious relaxation, ease ongoing stress and anxiety and feel your. body melt away into a soothing state of being.
