Mumtaz has a drive for continuous self-development, and this fuels her passion to connect with as many people as she possibly can to help them get the benefits of yoga. Being a lifelong learner, she continues to study and practice with world-renowned instructors from around the world.
Mumtaz’s kind and gentle manner are well suited to teaching students of all levels. In her classes, Mumtaz creates a safe, non-competitive space for her students to both gain subject knowledge and to gain proficiency in the practice of yoga. Her classes always involve a specific focus on breathing techniques, mindfulness and improving physical characteristics like alignment, balance and stability.
"I feel blessed to find my calling to life and for me this is teaching yoga and seeking to bring people to this journey who wouldn’t necessary think it’s for them".
Mumtaz has been featured in both Om Yoga and Yoga Journal for her work in breaking down the stereotypes associated with Yoga and making it accessible everyone. She feels honoured to teach yoga, helping to bring balance, awareness, health and happiness into other people's lives.
She co-runs a thriving yoga studio called at1.SPACE in Nottingham, UK.
